Position Description
Are you a motivated self-starter who has a good understanding of habilitative supports and truly enjoys working with people in meeting their goals? If this sounds like you, DSN Omaha has openings in our expanding In-Home Supported service locations for employees who truly want to take part in the development and shaping of a service model with excellent growth potential.
A supported location is similar to an assisted location, except the individual in services lives in their own apartment or with a parent or guardian in their homes. DSN still provides habilitative supports geared towards meeting the individuals goals, we just do it in their home or the community intermittently through out the week. The qualified person for this position will be a forward thinker who has a demonstrated history of working independently, the ability to be professional in any situation, and an understanding of proper documentation related to programming, records, and medication.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Employees must be at least 19 years of age; have a high school diploma or equivalent; possess a valid driver’s license, good driving record, reliable transportation and current auto insurance; and pass background checks. The employee must have full range of motion, physical strength and ability to achieve and maintain required training and certification including, but not limited to: DSN agency training, Medication Aid Certification, Standard First Aid & CPR Certification; physical intervention techniques certification, and other trainings or certifications as required. The employee must possess good verbal and written communication skills using English, including spelling and grammar.
Preferred:
Coursework in a human services related field and/or one year experience supporting people with developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs.
